At the apiary this month, we will demonstrate how to do a quality Varroa Mite Check. These mites are the Number 1 reason hives fail. Even though they are visible to the naked eye, most overlook them. The testing (varroa sampling) will indicate if a treatment is necessary and how soon.

We will also demonstrate doing splits and creating resource hives.
